Fordway are pleased to announce that we will be attending the Local Government Strategy Forum on 12th and 13th April.
Richard Blanford will be speaking at the invitation-only event at 10:05 - 10:25 on Tuesday morning. His talk will be on Shared IT Services in local government - a suppliers (and taxpayers) perspective.
Fordway has been involved in both the strategic planning and technical delivery of over a dozen local government shared service initiatives in the past 5 years, across county, unitary and district councils. These councils have had varied IT service delivery models; from fully in-house to complete outsource. Some initiatives have worked well - and we believe will achieve their aim – while others have failed to get beyond the planning stages, or have been through several iterations to realise the desired outcomes. Through this we have learnt what we believe are the factors behind a successful shared IT service, the issues to plan for, and guard against, plus the essential steps to get there. In his session, Richard, will offer insight into these experiences and shares his tips for success.
The Forum aims to provide pioneering views on existing and forthcoming challenges in the sector, with discussions focused on tangible solutions to these development areas.
The venue for this event will be the De Vere Heythrop Park, Enstone, Chipping Norton, Oxfordshire OX7 5UE.
